Josh Spangler
Josh is a Master Level Splankna Practitioner. He received his B.S. in Counseling/Psychology in 2013 from Toccoa Falls College. While there, he interned at a residential facility for at risk youth and fell in love with helping young people, while also developing a capacity to help maneuver them through difficult emotions, behaviors, and life situations.
Since then, Josh spent the next 8 years in Kansas City working in youth residential facilities and for Brain Balance, including 2 years as a Director. This has given him a wealth of hands-on experience working with children, adolescents, and adults that struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, developmental disabilities, and other trauma-related issues.
In 2018, Josh started the journey of becoming a Splankna practitioner. In early 2023, Josh moved back to his home state of Georgia to work along side Dana at Rhizoo Counseling and dedicate his time to develop a private practice. He uses a client-centered approach to helping people: valuing empathy, listening, and authenticity in the healing process. Josh has a passion for everyone he works with to experience the redemption and healing that Jesus offers.
Josh is an avid fan of climbing, rugby, and all things competition: including any kind of sports, board games, and video games. In his free time you can find him playing church softball, keeping up with the Chiefs and Dawgs football, long-boarding, or having deep chats with his best friends.
